Welcome to the first edition of the Sorta Kinda Radio blog and episode 59 of Sorta Kinda Radio.
While live gigs have been all but absent over the past couple of years, what is apparent is that there has been no shortage of heat coming out of the studios of producers worldwide.
Highlights from this week’s episode include the latest from Sydney artist Jaysounds who has teamed up with Club Social to release “In Deep”. A sure dance floor filler, the track lives up to its name with a deep bass line which is offset perfectly with the breathy female vocals asking, “baby can’t you see? / I’m in deep”.
Absolute legend in the Sydney circuit, the multi-talented Mixed Methods debut track landed this month, and it does not disappoint! Beat Feat. Slick Dickerson is the kind of song that gets even the most staunchly anti-dance member of your crew (you know who I’m talking about, right?) tapping their feet with its irresistible groove.
In other news, Box of Cats label head honcho Wongo teamed up with Tony Romera to deliver a tune that is just as the name describes – Chunky and Funky, with an old school rave inspired breakdown thrown in for good measure.
