March is shaping up to be a huge month for releases at Sorta Kinda Music and I’m stoked to share with you something special I’ve been cooking up, ‘LIKE A FREAK’. I wanted to give you a sneaky peak, so kicked off episode 60 of Sorta Kinda Radio with this tasty little track, and it is on my new EP which will be out on March 25. Some other notable additions to this week’s mix include Michael Bibi’s ‘Dance To The Devil. As far as I can tell, Bibi can do no wrong, he’s a man who has perfected his craft!
Yaeji’s ‘Raingurl’ is one of my all-time favourite tracks – it combines Korean and English lyrics, it’s ethereal, it’s bass heavy, it’s quirky and it’s still fresh some five years after its release in 2017. It may be the song I would like you to hear playing when I walk into the room!
What do you get when you combine a wicked Raga vocal sample, heavy base and distorted pads? You get ‘Cutty’ from LA based DJ & Producer Sampson. Released under Box of Cats, it’s a dirty little track that’ll get dance floors bouncing.
In other news, I’m super excited to announce that I’ll be opening for Mark Dynamix on April 2 for the next instalment of Saturday Social. Dynamix is a real juggernaut in the Aussie dance music scene, having run Ministry of Sound Recordings, publishing over 40 mix albums as well as an impressive number of original releases and his ‘Annual 2006’ compilation was the highest-selling Australian compilation of all time, so it’s going to be an epic event.
